Mavi Valiz is an app that connects Turkish speakers living in Greece with each other, with businesses and with the information they need.
Why we started
Anyone who moves to Greece asks much the same questions in their first months. Which documents do I need for a residence permit? Is there a dentist who speaks Turkish? Where do I buy furniture? Who is hiring?
The answers usually exist, but they are scattered. A question is asked in a group chat, answered, and a few days later it is buried under new messages. The following week someone else asks the same thing. A good tradesperson’s number is passed from friend to friend, and nobody is quite sure whether a business is still open.
We built Mavi Valiz so that this knowledge has a permanent, searchable and organised home. A place where you can see when a listing was last updated, where a business actually is and who asked what.
Our vision
To be the first place that connects newcomers with long-time residents, and businesses with customers, in the cities where Turkish-speaking communities live. We started in Greece, and we only open in a new city once we are sure of the quality of the service there.
Our name
Valiz is Turkish for suitcase, the first thing everyone brings to a new country. Mavi means blue, the colour of the Aegean that runs through so many of these stories. The four suitcase characters in the app say the same thing: people of different sizes and colours, on the same journey.
How we work

What we show must be accurate
We do not present features that do not exist. Every listing shows when it was last updated, and only businesses that have been reviewed appear in the directory.

Trust comes before growth
Businesses are reviewed before going live, and reported content is assessed by our team. We do not skip these steps to grow faster.

Only the data we need
We collect no more than the service needs to work. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.

The user decides
You can download your data at any time and delete your account without a waiting period, without having to contact us.

In your language, with local knowledge
We work in Turkish from the interface to support, and the content is built on real cities and real businesses in Greece.
